So the dude who made one of the OG "JDM Blogs" bought a Ford Mustang?
That's right. I actually bought an NC Mazda MX-5 in the winter, but somehow I kept yearning for something different.
It's been a long time since I've owned an American car, and last month I found myself trading in the Miata for an '06 Mustang GT.
Yeah, the interior isn't fancy. It won't take corners at a million miles per hour, but it sounds cool, is comfortable, and most importantly it's a blast to drive.

Another cool thing. Parts are dirt cheap.

Maybe I was bummed that a lot of the cool Japanese stuff either A) isn't available here, or B) is crazy expensive. So why not get the most American of American cars?

The hubs are 5x114.3, so dope wheelzzz needs to happen. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

And don't worry, I still have my Mazda5 in which to act out my wildest Style Wagon fantasies.
Be right back, gonna go to the drive-in and do some burnouts.
Congratulations! I love these new Mustangs.

While I congratulate you for the new purchase (and buying a manual, no less), I'm STILL waiting to see what you do with that Mazda5!

The newer 'stangs are actually pretty well made. I'd probably buy one if I wanted a V8 car.

"It won't take corners at a million miles per hour"
It will if you look into a good rear suspension upgrade with a Watts link... Head over to Griggs if you want the best of the best when it comes to Mustang suspension, they will quite literally transform your car.

Every thought you ever had about a Mustang not being able to handle will be soundly put to rest, instantly.

Go tell Toyota this. Maybe this'll get them to make and release the FT86

never thought i would see the day. seems sacrilegious. but i can understand the mustang being more comfortable than a miata
Posted by: empmw | June 08, 2010 at 02:13 PM
First, congrats on the new car:) Second, what did you do with your sick miata rims? Lastly, (no offence intended) Anyone else find it sad that an ancient suspension like a Watts is an upgrade for a car made in 2006? You pay 759 bucks to get the suspension from a gen1 rx7? Does this seem strange to anyone else?

Call me a d-bag and I might be worng but i have a feeling this Mustang might have something to do with working for Speedhunters and their relationship with RTR/Ford?
Ford's campaign is agressive in recent times, and posting your humble build on speedhunters is benefitting Ford and RTR(if their products are used), perhaps the RTR package Mustang didnt get the attention Vaughn expected, "blowing peoples minds" and this might be a way for people to somehow be influenced into buying a 'Stang or RTR parts?
I dont know....but all i can say is
having driven an exact model, Theres no way these things are very comfortable and that interior is very plain/boring, not to mention the suspension (mostly rear end) is pretty garbage.
To any hard-core car enthusiast such as yourself, this is a full downgrade.

Yes, its exterior is not quite impressive. But the engine performance as well as the convenience of the driver is much more important.

This is so cool and fantastic. The car would be like a star when on the road.

I love the contrast os its blue color but it would be more attractive if the exterior design would have some style.

But some tourism operators are worried Samoa will lose business by losing its position as the last place on earth to see the sunset each day, although it will now be one of the first places to see in each new day.
