Chop Shop

My good friend back home sent me some photos of the latest progress on his SR20DE-powered Datsun 510 project. Actually, he is transferring the guts of a running SR20-powered car he already built to a car with a much better body.

That's the new car in the garage with the engine on the hoist.

There's my friend Mike taking old 510 for one last spin down memory lane.

These pictures make me quite envious of the nice California weather and wide driveways. I'll post some more updates on his work as the project moves along.

So why did he ruin what appears to be a perfectly fine 510 shell?

I like Datsuns.. especially with SR20 power!

the body wasn't really worth anyones time. it had more bondo than actual sheet metal and some frame damage from an accidental acquaintance with a tree. the local recycling station was having a 'free bulky items drop off day' so i gave them a present.

But...it was Ontario mint. :( Ontario mint is a term that means, cars that are otherwise junk in most other parts of the world, still have a lot of Value in Ontario Canada. Seriously.

Yo, Build It.Drive It.You will school most cars on the road.

shame he is ruined this old body, :( what would i give for it in the rainy europe.
in our standarts is this one super mint body.
Whats the car behind?

YO Do you think he would trade the old body for some GRS swirlies, Blades or LS Starfishes
