Week by week, Japanese tuners are continuing to unleash more and more of the R35 GT-R's potential. The newest entrant in the GT-R tuning race is Esprit . The team at Esprit is no-stranger to badass tuning cars. Some of their past projects include an RB26 swapped Z33 Fairlady, their famous time attack NSX and most recently, their white Evo X.
Now they are at it again, this time with the R35. The new Esprit R35 parts line includes an ECU/Rom upgrade, a front pipe, as well as a minor "touring" suspension modification which is not described in detail.
With the above parts and the addition of a 5Zigen exhaust, Endless brake pads, and aftermarket wheels with Bridgestone rubber the car has managed to knock 2.8 seconds off its lap time at Suzuka Circuit. Starting off with a base time of 2:23.8, the lightly tuned car quickly dropped the time to a 2:21.00.
Outside, the biggest difference from stock are the wheels. They are 20" ings+1 forged LX Sport LM VII with special gold accents. They look right at home under the GT-R's muscular fenders.
Esprit is calling this the "first stage" of its GT-R tuning program. Given Esprit's past accomplishments it is obvious that this is just the start of its venture.
It's amazing to watch the R35 tuning world expand at such a rapid pace. Just imagine what will be in store a year from now or at this rate even a month from now!
