It's a been a busy a two weeks for car enthusiasts in western Japan. Just one week after the Kansai region folks got their tuning car fix at the Osaka Auto Messe, it's Kyushu's turn at the annual Fukuoka Auto Salon. While the Tokyo Auto Salon is held in the exhibition halls of the Makuhari Messe, the Fukuoka event is held at the Yahoo Japan Dome where the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks play their baseball games during the season. While many of the cars shown at these two events were cars that debuted at TAS last month, there are always some fresh cars from the local shops. Fukuoka in particular is known for its vibrant drifting scene. I wasn't able to make it to these events this year, but luckily there is some great coverage on the Auto Show 21 website. Here are a few things that caught my interest.
First the Osaka Auto Messe from last weekend-
"French" kei truck conversion from Vintage Van .
Check the ultra-aggressive Work Equip's on this Odyssey.
More vannin' fun with Garage Excellent's Estima.

Honda Odyssey face on an S14 Silvia.
One-via from Central Auto.
And a few cars from Fukuoka-
Dear Motorsports BNR34 faced Stagea.
Even though it was replaced by the Lexus GS, the JZS161 Aristo continues to be a popular platform.
KPGC10 and KPGC110 GTR's in Fujitsubo's booth.
Another Sorcery equipped NSX from Tracy Sports.
While they may not have the attention that the Tokyo Auto Salon gets, the Osaka and Fukuoka events have a unique charm that is all their own. Check the Auto Show 21 site for more photos.
