Twice a year, Omega Motor Oil holds a circuit meeting at Tsukuba , brining together a wide variety of cars for a full day of action on the main TC2000 course. While the event is not really a time attack competition, there was the regular showing of some very fast RX7's and GTR's as well as a couple tuning shop demo cars. One of the unique things about this event was the presence of pro-drivers like Eiji "Tarzan" Yamada who would take laps in the participant's cars, giving them tips to help improve their racing line and lap times in that particular vehicle.
The cars on the track ranged from all original classics to the latest heavily modified machines. There a ton of pictures from this event so I split everything up into two parts. I will post the rest tomorrow.
Here's a look at some of the cars-
There was a particularly strong showing of AE86's, including a few N2 race cars and modified street cars like this 3 door Trueno.
This R32 GTS-4 from KTS is packing a worked RB26DETT.
This was the cover car on the October '07 issue of Autoworks Magazine.
Gorgeous KPGC10 Skyline GT-R.
The sound of the twin cam S20 singing at high RPM is unreal.
Another S20-powered car, this one an S30Z from Garage Altair.
Quick S14 Silvia.
Wicked-looking black BNR32.
Flared GC8 Impreza.
S14 done in a livery inspired by Nismo's Super GT race cars.
The rest of the coverage will be up tomorrow. Until then you can check out the gallery right HERE .
