Another day, another Tsukuba track event. This one was held by the Team Clever Racing. Clever Racing sanctions a number of different racing events held at Tsukuba and while the event didn't draw any of the famous big name time attack cars, there were still a number of noteworthy machines out on the track.
The Seya-Max BNR32 GT-R was one one of the fastest cars of the day. The car was tuned by Autech Tsukada and is pushing about 600 horsepower. The engine is fed by a T78 Turbine with a lot of Trust valvetrain parts. It is also running a Trust sequential 6 speed transmission.
Check out the 198 cm wide body conversion.
Another fast R32 GT-R. It would wind up being the second fastest of the day.
Serious track-tuned S2000.
Phoenix Yellow EK9 Civic Type R. This car is typical of the circuit-going Honda's in Japan. Mismatched wheels, low rise GT wing, diffusers and vented FRP or carbon hood. All function.
Evo fom YR-Advance.
Now some on track action-
Light tuned E46 M3 in the first hairpin.
Private owned R35 GT-R from the local Tsuchiura area. Even though the new GT-R has been out for a couple months it still gets all sorts of attention. There was a constant crowd of people around this car in the paddock area taking photos and getting a a good luck. It's nice to see the enthusiasm the Japanese have for this car.
Note the wheel set up on this Evo. I have noticed that a lot of the Evo's at Tsukuba are running staggered wheel set ups with slightly wider, lower offset wheels in the front. It looks this set up may be giving more front end bite in the corners.
Compared to a lot of events, this one had a fairly low RX7 turnout. This white FD,however, had the day's fastest lap time at 1:01.771.
This was one of several fully tuned Evo III's on the track. Lap time was a 1"03.828.
More early Evo hotness.
Left hand drive 240Z imported from the United States.
More S2000's -
Surprisingly, circuit-tuned JZA80 Supra's like this one are a fairly rare sight in Japan. At least compared to its GT-R and RX7 rivals that is. This one sounded awesome at full throttle.
Nismo Z33.
Stock Evo X.
One more shot of the Seya-Max BNR32.
As you can see, although this event was nothing mind blowing, there was still some exciting action on the track.
See the rest of the photos in the album here .
What time does that Phoenix Yellow EK9 Civic Type R run?
Do you have any more pics of the engine bay or interior?
